Introducing Grand Rapids Chiropractor Dr. Ryan Davis

Dr. Ryan Davis

"I suffered from migraine headaches as a child..."

When I was a child I would get a migraine headache that would put me to bed.  The headaches would get so bad that I would actually vomit from them.  I was taking 6-8 ibuprofen as a 12-year-old boy every time I got a headache!! As I got older the migraines would become more and more frequent as well as more severe.   One day I had some severe neck pain so I decided I would try chiropractic.  After a series of adjustments my neck pain improved greatly, and then I noticed I wasn't getting any headaches any more.  I realized that by getting my spine adjusted I became headache free without over-the-counter and/or prescription drugs poisoning my body.  At that point I made my career choice in chiropractic.

After attending Grand Rapids High School, I went to Itasca Community College to complete my requirements for Chiropractic College.  After graduating from ICC in 1997, I attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, MN.  When I started chiropractic school, I knew that chiropractors helped back pain, neck pain and of course headaches.  I was intrigued to learn that the first chiropractic patient was a person that was deaf and after an adjustment his hearing returned!  As I continued with my endeavor, I became more and more excited about my career choice.

I also enjoy bow hunting and fishing while Meade enjoys scrap booking and reading.

Dr. Ryan Asks some important questions of interest to Grand Rapids residents - Chiropractor Grand Rapids Dr. Ryan Asks...

What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
Why are chiropractors wary of the germ theory?
Louis Pasteur originated the idea that germs caused disease. Yet, on his deathbed he recanted, declaring, "It's not the seed, but the soil." Meaning, it's not the germ that causes disease, but the condition of the body that allows the germ to thrive. Chiropractic care in our Grand Rapids office is designed to bolster your resistance so germs don't see you as a good host.
